Liberian Gov. Sympathizes with Mudslide Victims in Chio Town

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has sympathized with families and victims of last week’s deadly mudslide in Chio Town, River Gee County.

The sympathy of the Government was paid by Vice President Jeremiah Koung as Head of the Delegation to the scene of the incident on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.

In a brief remark to the families of the victims, VP Koung expressed deep sadness and assured them of the Government’s support during this time of bereavement.

The Liberian Vice President, on behalf of the Liberian Government, presented to each survivor two hundred thousand Liberian Dollars to help with medical costs.

Vice President Koung also presented one hundred thousand and ten bags of 25kg of rice to each family of a deceased from the mudslide.

The Vice President was accompanied to the area by National Security Advisor Samuel Kofi Woods and a host of local authorities.
