Sen. McGill Calls for Probe into Alleged Denial of Former Pres. Weah to VIP Lounge…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Margibi County Senator, Nathaniel McGill, is calling for an investigation into reports alleging that former President George Weah was denied access to the VIP Lounge at the Roberts International Airport (RIA).

Media reports on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, alleged that the former President and entourage were denied access to the VIP Lounge upon arrival in the Country.

Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, Senator McGill called on the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs to launch an investigation to uncover the truth of Tuesday’s alleged incident at the RIA.

However, the Executive Mansion has since clarified that the VIP Lounge remains accessible to the former President and all VIPs entering or leaving the Country.

Senator Nathaniel McGill said:” I do not believe an instruction was given by President Joseph Boakai to deny the former President access to the VIP Lounge.”
