Executive Mansion Denies Reports of Suspension of Deputy Minister of State for Administration

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Executive Mansion has denied social media reports alleging the suspension of the Deputy Minister of State for Administration.

According to the reports, Madam Cornelia Kruah-Togba was suspended for her alleged involvement in the appointment of officials of the Liberian Government.

But an Executive Mansion release described the report as unfounded and misleading; clarifying that President Joseph Boakai has not taken such action.

The release said all nominations and subsequent appointments made by President Boakai as guaranteed by Article 54 of the Liberian Constitution.

Meanwhile, the Office of the President is urging the public not to give credence to information outside of the official presidential sources attributed to the President.

In another development from the Executive, Vice President Jeremiah Koung has pledged to champion the fight against malnutrition across Liberia.

Vice President Koung said:” The provision of better healthcare for Liberians is crucial to building a healthy nation.”

According to a recent release issued, the Vice President’s commitment was contained in the remarks made by his Chief of Staff, Prince Gbieu, when he received a five-year strategic plan from the Scaling-Up Nutrition Secretariat (SUN) over the weekend.

The plan, if funded, will begin implementation of programs to tackle the challenges of malnutrition and sanitation affecting children, especially in rural Liberia.

Liberia joined the SUN Movement in 2014, with the establishment of its Secretariat in 2018 under the Ministry of Health, but it has since shifted under the Office of the Vice President to attract Political Will.
