Criminal Court ‘B’ Dismisses Murder Case Involving Former Executive Protection Service Agent…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Criminal Court ‘B’ has dismissed the murder case involving former Executive Protection Service (EPS) Agent, Patrick Kollie.

It followed State Prosecutors’ alleged failure to proceed with the matter without prejudice.

A hang verdict was rendered in favor of Defendant Patrick Kollie at Criminal Court ‘A’, with jurors for and six against, suggesting that the State could not prove the matter beyond all reasonable doubts.

Defendant Kollie was temporarily released on bail after the hung verdict was reached by the trial jurors.

On July 4, 2022, Agent Patrick Kollie was arrested by police in Monrovia, after he allegedly shot Valentine Johnson at the Police Academy Junction in Paynesville City, but later died of severe wounds.

In another judicial development, the Monrovia City Court is expected to entertain legal arguments on Friday, February 23, between State Prosecutors and lawyers representing Prophet Key in a case involving him and Liberia’s Culture Ambassador Julie Endee.

Ambassador Endee accused Prophet Key of multiple offenses against her, ranging from disorderly conduct, profanity, and terroristic threats to criminal coercion.

On Monday, February 19, Prophet Key pleaded not guilty during the first hearing after a pre-trial conference failed to produce the desired outcome.

However, in counter-argument, State Prosecutors prayed the Court to issue a Stay Order against Defendant Key to prevent him from leaving the Country ahead of the February   23 trial.

Defendant Prophet Key is facing criminal prosecution for allegedly raining profanity and life-threatening utterances against Ambassador Endee in his recent social media posts.
