Pres. Boakai Makes Additional Nominations in Gov.

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has made additional nominations in Government.

According to an Executive Mansion release issued recently, those nominated are Mamaka Bility, Minister of State without Portfolio, Samuel Stevquoah, Minister of State without Portfolio/Special Services, Attorney Cornelia Kruah-Togba, Deputy Minister for Administration, Ministry of State.

Others are Ora Richards, Deputy for Budget and Finance, Ministry of State, Sekou Dukuly, Managing Director, National Port Authority, and James Bernard, Deputy Managing Director for Administration, National Port Authority.

The release also named Jeff Blibo and Melvin Sheriff, Chairman and Executive Director, of the National Investment Commission, respectively, Maj. Gen. Prince C. Johnson, retired and was nominated, Minister of National Defense.

The Liberian Leader also nominated Brigadier General Geraldine George, retired, Deputy Minister for Operations, Ministry of National Defense, Maj. Gen. Daniel Ziankahn, Ambassador-Designate, Col. Davidson Forleh, was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General and nominated Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia.

Others also nominated are Col. Theophilus Dana, Deputy Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of Liberia, Morie Yaude Nemah, Executive Assistant, Office of the President, Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs.

According to the release, the nominations are subject to confirmation by the Liberian Senate, where applicable.

Meanwhile, president Boakai has described the Banking Sector as a critical component to the viability of the Country’s economy.

President Boakai lauded the Sector for positively contributing to the development of the Country.

The Liberian Leader made the assertions when a delegation from Bloom Bank Africa, formerly Global Bank, paid him a courtesy visit on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his Rehab residence in Paynesville City.

He also expressed optimism that the Bank will continue supporting small and large-scale businesses to improve the economy.

The Delegation then assured President Boakai of its full support to local Liberian-owned businesses, as well as other programs for the benefit of the citizens.
