Pres. Boakai Reaffirms Gov.’s Unwavering Commitment to Good Governance

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has reaffirmed his Government’s unwavering commitment to good governance.

President Boakai said:” My government will fight against corruption and build institutions to serve the interest of the Liberian people.”

The Liberian Leader also highlighted transparency, accountability, and the rule of law as hallmarks of his administration.

He also urged the 55th National Legislature to pass appropriate legislation and support financial appropriations to win the fight against corruption.

The President noted that the Country’s Justice System has been marred by inefficiency, corruption, and lack of public trust over the past years.

At the same time, President Boakai says education is a fundamental right and not a privilege.

He said:” The Liberian Government will invest and provide adequate resources to strengthen the Education System because the downward trend has left countless Liberian children without the tools they need to build a better tomorrow.”

President Boakai said:” The Government cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that a significant portion of the population is struggling with a lack of access to quality education.”

President Joseph Boakai believes that there is no other way to successfully fight poverty without the provision of quality education for Liberians.

The Liberian Leader was speaking Monday, January 29, 2024, when he delivered his first State of the Nation Address at the Capitol in Monrovia.
