“My administration will engage the LBS Management to improve workers’ well-being…”-Mr. Sayon

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) Workers Union President Joseph Sayon says his administration will engage the Management of the State Broadcaster to improve the well-being of his co-workers.

Mr. Sayon noted that his leadership will also engage in a constructive social dialogue with management for the increment of workers’ salaries.

He said:” LBS workers play a key role in propagating Government’s policies and programs, promoting peace, among others, and as such, they deserve better salaries and benefits to meet their living standards.”

The LBS Workers Union President also noted that his administration will push for the provision of housing allowances for outstation workers.

Mr. Joseph Sayon said:” To secure efficiency and industrial harmony at LBS, the Management, and employees must have mutual respect for one another in line with the tripartite agreement.”

Meanwhile, the President of the Liberia Business Association (LIBA), James Strother, wants the new leadership of the LBS Workers Union promote unity in diversity.

Mr. Strother said:” Promoting unity is significant to ensuring the achievement of the Union’s goals and contributing to the well-being of workers.”

He was speaking on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Paynesville at the induction ceremony of officers elect of the LBS Workers Union.

Mr. Strother also called on workers of the System to give their full support to the new leadership of the Union to ensure a smooth implementation of its agenda.

Mr. James Strother then thanked the former leadership of the LBS Workers Union for steering the affairs of workers for the past three years.

At the same time, LBS Officer-in-Charge Laura Brown has assured that the plan of the new leadership of the LBS Workers Union will be transmitted to the incoming Management.

Madam Brown also wants the leadership of the Union to be civil in their engagement with management to address their concerns.

She also praised the former leadership of the Union for cordiality over the past years.
