Supreme Court of Liberia Lifts Nwabudike’s Suspension

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Supreme Court of Liberia has lifted the suspension imposed on Ndubusi Nwabudike.

The Court, in its ruling, said his status as Counselor at Law as a legal practitioner in all courts in Liberia is hereby restored.

The Court said his right to obtain a license to practice as a lawyer is hereby reinstated to enable him to pursue his professional career.

In 2020, the Liberian National Bar Association expelled Nwabudike after he presented fake citizenship documents before the Liberian Senate when he was nominated by former President George Weah as Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC).

At the same time, Criminal Court D has sentenced a female armed robber to two years imprisonment.

Convict Annie Johnson and others attacked Agent Frank Suomie, an Executive Protection Service (EPS) Agent, in March last year in the 72nd area, under the pretense of being stranded for a vehicle.

The EPS Agent, using his private bike, offered to give them a lift but was attacked by others with cutlasses and other deadly weapons, thus wounding him on his hand and back.

Reading the probation report, Judge Memenita Jabateh Sirleaf said:” Annie Johnson has no criminal records as per the report based on the testimonies from her pastor, neighbors, and others.”

Judge Jabateh Sirleaf said convict Annie Johnson facilitated the act as a first-degree felony has been reduced to 3rd degree, thus sentencing her to a lesser jail term.

Frank Toomey, Prince Yormie, Matthew Williams, and Victor Tuazama, were all sentenced to ten years each based on the probation reports which revealed that they were all armed robbers.
