Liberia’s Education Minister Calls on Stakeholders, Larger Population to Support Education Sector

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Education Minister is calling on collective education stakeholders and a larger population to support the advancement of Liberia’s Education System.

Minister Ansu Sonii urged Liberians to put aside personal differences and support the revitalization efforts of the Education Sector.

Minister Sonii, however, praised the Governments of China, India, Hungary, and Morocco for rewarding partnership with the Ministry of Education.

He then praised school administrators and teachers for the mutual working relationship.

Meanwhile, Minister Sonii said:” The World Bank is massively impacting Liberian students under the Irise Project.”

He said the Project has established several TVET institutions in seven of Liberia’s fifteen counties, including Lofa, Maryland, Bong, and Margibi as some of the benefiting counties from the World Bank-funded Irise Project.

Minister Sonii also said:” The Ministry of Education is working on modalities to extend the program to the remaining eight counties.”

Education Minister Ansu Sonii spoke on Monday, January 15, 2024, when he appeared on the ELBC Super Morning Show.
