Liberia’s Auditor General Refutes Claims…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s Auditor General, Garswa Jackson, has refuted claims that the General Auditing Commission (GAC) has not been audited.

Mr. Jackson said:” Since I was appointed Auditor General, I have insisted that the GAC be audited every year.”

He noted that the Commission was audited during the 2021/2022 Fiscal Year, assuring that the GAC will be audited for the Fiscal Year 2023/2024.

Speaking recently in Paynesville City, the Auditor General said:” The Commission seeks to enforce transparency and accountability as required by its statutory mandate.”

Mr. Garswa Jackson disclosed that the General Auditing Commission continues to internally communicate the mandate, progress, challenges, and prospects to enhance accountability on the usage of public resources.
