“I will conduct an impartial audit for out-going Liberia Government officials”-President-elect Boakai

vowed to commission an impartial audit for outgoing Liberian Government officials to enhance accountability in state governance.

Ambassador Boakai clarified that the audit is not intended to witch-hunt people, but an exercise also aimed at holding the outgoing officials accountable for their stewardship over the past years.

In a VOA interview in Washington, DC, Ambassador Boakai warned against corruption and abuse of power in his government, emphasizing the use of legal remedies to curb and semblance of bad governance.

President-elect Boakai said:” I will set an example of good governance by first declaring my assets before assuming the mantle of authority in January 2024.”

Ambassador Joseph Boakai also promised to lead a responsible government, void of nepotism and negative influences from family and friends.

Meanwhile, the incoming Liberian Leader named Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism as key pillars of his government.

He said: “My government will also empower young people by providing training opportunities and making them marketable through quality education.”

Ambassador Boakai spoke of plans to attract investment to Liberia to directly benefit and empower young people and make them productive citizens.

President-elect Joseph Boakai also vowed to promote women’s participation in his government, describing them as an integral part of his administration.
