Liberia’s Joint Presidential Transitional Team to Hold Third Meeting

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Joint Presidential Transitional Team (JPTT) is expected to hold its third meeting on today Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to meet the January 22, 2024, inauguration target.

Wednesday’s meeting will be co-chaired by Vice President-elect Jeremiah Koung and Foreign Minister Dee-Maxwell Kemayah.

A member of the JPTT Secretariat and Secretary General of the Unity Party (UP), Amos Tweh, significant progress is being made to ensure a successful inauguration and detailed turnover note.

Mr. Tweh told ELBC on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, that the Secretariat is also convening a meeting on Tuesday to look at plans presented to it by the Sub-Inaugural Committee headed by Madam Miatta Fahnbulleh.

The UP Secretary General also dispelled media reports that the Joint Presidential Transitional Team is not being effective, due to the absence of Vice President-elect, Jeremiah Koung.
