Liberia’s First Lady Urges Partners to Support Fight against Malaria

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s First Lady Clar Marie Weah is urging Liberia’s partners to support its fight against malaria.

Mrs. Weah described the severity of malaria disease, especially on ant women and children, as a national problem.

She wants international partners to support the Liberian Government in the prevention and treatment of malaria to reduce its prevalence in the country.

Mrs. Weah made the appeal on Wednesday, September 22, 2023, on the sidelines of the ongoing UN General Assembly in New York, when she addressed the “Speed Up, Scale Up Intermittent Preventive Treatment Campaign.”

According to a dispatch, the First Lady has endorsed the campaign on the grounds that the initiative would protect pregnant women and their unborn children from malaria.
