Senate Ratifies Amended Mineral Dev. Agreement…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has ratified the restated and amended Mineral Development Agreement between Liberia and Bea Mountain Company in Grand Cape Mount County.

It followed a report from its Joint Committees on Mines and Energy, Concessions, and Judiciary on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

The Committees recommended that the agreement be ratified to ensure value addition, job creation, and improvement of fiscal discipline.

It also requested the company to provide one hundred thousand UD Dollars to the four affected clans for development purposes within six months, after ratification.

Meanwhile, the instrument has been sent to the House of Representatives for concurrence.
