Liberia to Host Second Joint External Evaluation Internat’l Health Regulations Core Capacities

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia is expected to host its Second Joint External Evaluation (JEE) of the International Health Regulations Core Capacities.

The evaluation will take place beginning Monday, September 4 to the 8th, 2023, at the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.

Speaking on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at a press conference in Congo Town, NHIL Deputy Director General for Technical Services, Julius Gilayeneh, said:” The JEE marks a significant milestone in the country’s commitment to global health security.”

Also speaking, the Officer-In-Charge of WHO-Liberia, Dr. Musu Duworkor, called on relevant authorities to actively engage in the event to assess the country’s capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to public health threats.

She noted that the JEE will involve field visits to selected locations for firsthand evaluation of progress and provide recommendations for improvement.
