Liberia’s Chief Zoe Warns Traditional Chiefs…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and Elders of Liberia, Zanzan Karwor, has warned traditional chiefs against wearing party regalia during this electioneering period.

Chief Karwor wants traditional leaders to play a neutral role in the much anticipated October 10 Presidential and Legislative Elections.

The Liberian Chief Zoe made the statement on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, when temporarily suspended Poro and Sande activities in Gbarpolu, Bomi, and Grand Cape Mount Counties.

Meanwhile, the Liberian Traditional Leader is urging traditional authorities in those areas to abide by the decision and create a safe environment for all political actors to freely campaign.

The Liberian Chief Zoe:” Anyone caught undermining the Council’s decision will face the consequences.”
