Liberians in Guinea-Bissau Appeal to Gov…

BISSAU, GUINEA-BISSAU-Liberians residing in Guinea-Bissau are appealing to the Liberian Government to establish an embassy or a consulate in that country.

According to them, the absence of a Liberian Embassy or consulate in the capital, Bissau, is causing them serious difficulty and financial burden.

They revealed that traveling to neighboring Senegal or Ghana to renew their passports.

The Guinea-Bissau-based Liberians spoke in an ELBC interview over the weekend shortly before the arrival of President George Weah for the just-ended ECOWAS Summit.

They also decried the lack of English-speaking schools, thus forcing them to send their children to Portuguese schools.

They want a government-to-government partnership for the construction of an English-speaking school, where their children can attend.
