Gov. Identifies with Fire And Flood Victims in Nimba County

NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government has identified with more than sixty fire victims in Gompa City, Nimba County.

The government, through the Internal Affairs Ministry and National Disaster Management Agency, provided two-hundred-thousand Liberian Dollars, along with one hundred fifty 25kg bags of rice to the victims.

The flood victims were given one hundred bags of rice along with eighty thousand Liberian Dollars, while the remaining sixty bags and one-hundred-twenty thousand Liberian Dollars were given to the two fire victims.

Speaking on Saturday, July 8, 2023, in Gompa City, Nimba County Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf, expressed Government’s deepest sorrow to the victims, especially those who lost their family members in the fire incident.

Also speaking, two of the beneficiaries lauded the Liberian Government for the intervention during these challenging times.
