MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Director General of the Civil Service Agency (CSA) says the Payroll Harmonization Scheme has significantly reduced the wage bill of the Liberian Government.

Mr. James Thompson said:” The exercise has reduced civil servants from seventy-six thousand to sixty-eight thousand.”

Mr. Johnson disclosed that the Agency has succeeded in the capacity development of civil servants to enhance professional services at workplaces.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of Liberia Micro Economic Policy and Analysis Center, Dell Francis Wreh, said:” The payroll reform has provided protection for civil servants.”

Director Wreh said the reform ensured that Civil Service Agency is the only entity responsible to hire and retire civil servants at sixty-five years of age.
