US State Dept. 2023 Report Praises Weah’s Administration….

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The United States Department of State 2023 Report on Fiscal Transparency has praised Weah’s administration for making significant progress in fiscal transparency.

The US State Department made specific reference to the Liberian Government’s effort in making Executive Budget Proposals publicly available in a reasonable and timely manner.

The report also hailed Liberia for making major state-owned enterprises’ debt information publicly, and basic information on natural resource extraction awards publicly available, respectively.

According to the State Department 2023 Fiscal Transparency Report on Liberia, the Liberian Government has created a platform for the public to have easy access to information on debt obligations, including online.

Meanwhile, the report says Liberia’s fiscal transparency will improve by making the enacted budget public; eliminating off-budget accounts, and ensuring the supreme audit institution meets international standards, among others.
