Senate Mandates Committee on Health to Probe Reported Commotion…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has mandated its Committee on Health to investigate reported commotion in the Gbarpolu County Health System.

It followed communication on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from Senator Botoe Kanneh of Gbarpolu County.

In her communication, Senator Kanneh pleaded with the Plenary to cite Health Minister, Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah, to settle the dispute between Gbarpolu County Health Director, Dr. Peter George, and the Medical Director of the County, Dr. Pojah Mugabe.

Senator Kanneh noted that due to the confusion, patients are being unattended daily at the county’s referral hospital.

Meanwhile, the Committee is expected to report to the Plenary within one week.
