Government Wants Re-arrest of those Acquitted in 100M USD Drug Case

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie says the Justice Ministry is pursuing all legal means to rearrest persons recently acquitted in the One-Hundred Million Dollar Cocaine Case.

Minister Rennie said:” The Liberian Government is working along with international partners to effect the arrest”.

He said:” The Government is convinced that evidence adduced in court by the Justice Ministry was overwhelming in favor of the State”.

Minister Rennie noted that the Country is hurt as a result of the Court’s verdict, and called on those claiming that the Liberian Government did not present sufficient evidence in Court to desist.

The Information Minister emphasized that the fight against illicit drugs in the country requires the collective efforts of all Liberians, especially the Judiciary and Legislature.
