MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Preliminary results from the just-ended Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) exercise in the remaining nine counties of Liberia have been released.

The results were released on Thursday, May 25, 2023, by the National Elections Commission (NEC) Chairperson, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, following the tallying process.

According to Madam Browne-Lansanah, a total of one-million-thirty-thousand-seven-hundred-twenty-four registrants were recorded during the registration exercise.

She said:” Figures from the nine counties are subject to change, following the duplication process”.

The preliminary results are from Phase Two of the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) exercise conducted in Bong, Grand Gedeh, Lofa, Nimba, Rivercess and Maryland, Grand Kru, Sinoe, and River Gee Counties.

Meanwhile, the NEC Chairperson is urging Liberians to take advantage of the pending voter roll exhibition exercise.

Madam Browne-Lansanah said:” The exhibition will ensure that pieces of information provided by registrants are correct”.

She disclosed that during the exercise the Commission will display the registrant’s information at various registration centers across the country.

The NEC Boss also urged Liberians to join the Commission in strengthening the system for the conduct of free, fair, credible, and transparent elections.

Madam Browne-Lansanah spoke on Thursday, May 25, 2023, via mobile phone at ELBC Super Morning Show in Monrovia.
