Zonal Heads of Sierra Leonean Community Petitioned Embassy Authorities…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Several Zonal Heads of the Sierra Leonean Community in Liberia have denounced a planned inauguration of an allegedly illegitimate new leadership of the community.

The Zonal Heads on Monday, May 22, 2023, presented a petition to the Sierra Leonean Embassy near Monrovia, distancing themselves from what it termed as a bogus election allegedly won by Reverend Samuel Sannoh, a member of the community.

In their petition, the group called for the nullification of such a process, maintaining that Madam Gloria Sheriff still remains the President, pending the conduct of an election in line with the constitution of the community.

Meanwhile, the petition was received by the Authorities of the Sierra Leonean Embassy for perusal and subsequent action.

The Sierra Leonean Embassy was on Monday, May 22, 2023, besieged by members of the disputing parties with placards calling for a halt to any inauguration.
