Nat’l Elections Commission Warns Would-be Aspirants against Pre-Campaign Activities

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) is warning all would-be aspirants in Liberia involved in pre-campaigning activities to desist in order to avoid embarrassment.

The NEC’s warning is in line with the May 5 regulation of the Commission on documentation of all related campaign violations by would-be political aspirants.

According to the NEC Chairperson, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, failure of would-be aspirants to abide by the mandate will lead to consequences for the candidates’ nomination process.

Madam Browne-Lansanah also warned that on May 15 at 12 midnight would-be political aspirants must take do or remove all related campaigning materials and promos on the electronic media, among others.

The National Elections Commission Chairperson gave out the warning on Monday, May 8, 2023, at a news conference in Monrovia.
