Internal Affairs Minister Holds Discussions with UAE Counterpart

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf, and his United Arab Emirates (UAE) Counterpart, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, are holding discussions to support Liberia’s Decentralization program.

Minister Sirleaf disclosed that he is also discussing assistance for the Liberia National Police (LNP) and the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), to enhance their capacities.

A dispatch quotes Minister Sirleaf as saying “It is important to strengthen Liberia’s internal security for the maintenance of law and order”.

The Internal Affairs Boss said:” Technical and logistical support for those institutions is crucial, especially as Liberians are gearing up for the October 10 Presidential and General Elections”.
