Pres. Weah Dedicates New Liberia Football Asso.’s Headquarters

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Chief Patron of Sports, President George Weah, has dedicated over one-point-five million United States Dollar football Headquarters in Congo Town.

The modern two-story building located in the Swamkamore Community, in Congo Town, now becomes the first football headquarters owned by the Liberia Football Association (LFA), since its establishment in 1963.

Speaking at the dedication on Friday, April 28, 2023, President Weah reiterated Government’s commitment to supporting all sporting disciplines, despite the criticism.

The Liberian Leader said:” My Government has hugely supported football since coming to power, and it is incumbent upon the players to work harder in collecting victories in matches”.

The Chief Patron of Sports praised the leadership of the LFA Boss, Mustapha Raji, for the huge achievement, promising that the Liberian Government will continue supporting all sporting disciplines in the Country, to fast-track the development of young athletes.

Meanwhile, LFA President, Mustapha Raji, paid special tribute to the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), for helping to develop football in Liberia.

Mr. Raji said:” Football cannot be developed by the LFA alone, but massive contributions from Liberian businesses and concession companies in the country are required”.

At the same time, the LFA President said the amount spent on the construction of the LFA Headquarters surpassed the projected one-point-five million, because of delay in the construction due to the COVID-19 situation in the Country.
