Grand Jury of 8th Circuit Court in Sanniquellie finds Murder Convict Guilty

SANNIQUELLIE, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Grand Jury of the 8TH Circuit Court in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, has rendered a unanimous guilty verdict against a thirty-three-year old man for murder.

It followed legal arguments between State Prosecutors and Defense Lawyers in the murder case.

In December 2022, convict Ernest Gbarto, chopped his wife, Yei Gargbay, age thirty-five, multiple times, Killing her in the New Barracks Community in Sanniquellie.

According to ELBC Upper Nimba County Correspondent, the death of Yei Gargbay triggered mass protests by Sanniquellie residents in demand of justice.

Our Correspondent is quoted as saying the Court will this Thursday, February 23, 2023, announce a jail sentence for convict Ernest Gbarto, consistent with law.
