Pres. Weah Thanks World Bank for Its Support…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has expressed gratitude to the World Bank for being a key development partner in support of the Liberian Government’s Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD).

President Weah said:” Under the leadership of the World Bank Regional Vice President for Central and Western Africa, Ousmane Diagana, the Bank’s support to Liberia has grown significantly.”

The Liberian Leader added that the World Bank’s assistance has led to the National IDA commitments doubling from just fewer than Five-hundred-million US Dollars to close to one- billion US Dollars from 2019 to date.

He termed such milestone as a manifestation of the confidence that the Bank has in his Government’s vision for the Country and its people.

President Weah said:” The visit of Mr. Diagana demonstrates the Bank’s commitment to not only support Liberia financially, but also to help mobilize more resources towards the Country’s infrastructure deficit.”

President George Weah spoke at the ELS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town on Wednesday evening, February 15, 2023, during a dinner held in honor of the World Bank Regional Vice President.
