UNDP, Center for Justice and Peace Studies Trains Community Watch Forum Members in Lofa County

LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), through the Center for Justice and Peace Studies (CIPS), has embarked on training community Watch Forum members in Lofa County to mitigate violence, ahead of the October 10 elections.

CIPS Project Officer, Francis Quayon, said:” The initiative is aimed at buttressing Government’s efforts to foster peace during and after the elections.”

Mr. Quayon told ELBC that similar trainings are being conducted in Montserrado, Margibi, Bong and Nimba Counties.

Meanwhile, Mr. Quayon lauded Community Watch Forum members for their robust role in maintaining the Country’s longstanding peace.

He, at the same time, reaffirmed his organization’s support to Liberia’s security sector.
