“Ensure adequate budgetary allotments to integrity institutions”-Amb. McCarthy

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-US Ambassador Michael McCarthy wants the Liberian Legislature ensure adequate budgetary allotments to integrity institutions.

Ambassador McCarthy said:” Liberia’s prosperity requires well-functioning integrity institutions void of political influence to foster accountable checks and balances in state governance.”

The US Diplomat named political will and strong integrity institutions as important and critical factors required protecting democracy, and ensuring effective fight against corruption in any society.

Ambassador McCarthy urged the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government to work together to improve efficiency and productivity at integrity institutions.

The US Envoy made the assertions at a news conference on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the US Embassy near Monrovia.
