Some Liberian Muslims will not be a part of this year’s Hajj…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Some Liberian Muslims will not be part of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Internal Affairs Minister, Varney Sirleaf, attributed the situation to the lack of cooperation and unity within the Liberian Muslim Community.

Minister Sirleaf, however, expressed regret and apologized to Muslims who have gone through the process, but will not make the trip for the 2022 Hajj.

Speaking at a news conference Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in Monrovia, the Internal Affairs Ministry Boss said:” My apology is that those Muslims do not deserve what they are going through.”

Meanwhile, Minister Sirleaf has vowed to champion reconciliation among the Muslim Community, to ensure they put aside the divisive tendency.
