Provisional reports from Lofa County’s Senatorial By-Election put Cllr. Jallah ahead…..

LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Provisional results released by the National Elections Commission (NEC) from the Lofa County Senatorial By-Election have put independent candidate Cllr. Joseph Jallah in a commanding lead.

The results from three-hundred-eighty-one polling centers released Thursday, June 30, 2022, gave Cllr. Jallah twenty-thousand-four-hundred-eighty-two votes, constituting forty-point-six-one percent, while Unity Party candidate Galakpa Kortimai obtained sixteen-thousand-six-hundred-sixty-six votes amounting to thirty-three-point-four percent.

The Chairperson of NEC, Davidetta Brown-Lansanah, said:” The provisional results were taken from three-hundred-eighty-one polling places, comprising four-hundred-forty-five   centers.”

Madam Lansanah said the votes released Thursday constitute eighty-three-point-ninety-two percent of the overall.

The NEC Chair said final results of the polls will be out in the coming days.

At the same time massive celebration is ongoing in Lofa County, following the release of provisional results by NEC.

Speaking to reporters moments after the NEC pronouncement, Montserrado County Lawmaker Thomas Fallah hailed the people of Lofa County for the momentous decision.

Representative Fallah said:” The action of the people is a clear demonstration of the County’s willingness to development.”

He said the inevitable victory of Cllr. Jallah is a dawn of a new day in Lofa County’s political history.

Meanwhile, Representative Fallah has rallied the people of the county to remain united and forge the county’s development agenda.
