Unknown persons burglarized offices of County Attorney of Montserrado County….

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-About three supporting offices of the County Attorney of Montserrado County, including its evidence room, have been burglarized by unknown persons at the Temple of Justice.

The offices are three floors above the offices of Chief Justice Francis Korkpor and other justices.

The burglary was noticed on Monday, December 27, 2021, by prosecuting lawyers and employees of the Justice Ministry and Judiciary.

Prosecuting lawyers informed the security division of the Judiciary and the Liberia National Police (LNP) about the alleged incident.

ELBC Reporter said several valuable items, including laptops and cash, were reportedly stolen from the offices during Monday’s incident.

Despite the offices location, the crime could not be prevented, and this is the second time unknown men have reportedly burglarized the offices of the County Attorney of Montserrado County, at the Temple of Justice.

In another development, Atty. Aaron Kartee’s sealed indictment has finally been uncovered on allegation of attempting to kill his ex-wife, Victoria Kerkula, in the Mount Barclay Community.

Atty. Kartee’s seven count indictment accused him of multiple offenses, but prosecuting lawyers have been accused of employing unnecessary legal technicality to prevent his arrest and subsequent prosecution, at Criminal Court ‘A’.

Prosecuting lawyers, then led by Cllr. Cornelius Wennah, defended the holding of Atty. Kartee’s arrest order, saying the procedure used to obtain his criminal indictment was improper,  and as such, he will not be served until the real procedure is followed.

Cllr. Wennah’s claim was rejected by Mrs. Victoria Kerkula’s lawyer, Cllr. Kpoto Gizzie who revealed that they presented concrete evidence before the Grand Jury of Montserrado County, which led to a true bill consistent with Chapter 15, Section 15.12, of the Criminal Procedure Law of Liberia.

Our Judicial Reporter disclosed that Atty. Aaron Kartee is the current Public Defender of Grand Bassa County, and his offenses    range from aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit murder, theft of property and criminal mischief.

The Liberian Lawyer is yet to come under the jurisdiction of Criminal Court ‘A’ to face prosecution, due to Government lawyers alleged legal technicality.

Still on the grounds of the Temple of Justice, aggrieved family members of the late Rufus Yarsee, allegedly killed by an Emergency Respond Unit (ERU) officer of the Liberia National Police (LNP), are demanding justice for the loss of their love one.

The late Yarsee was allegedly killed by an officer identified as Emmanuel Roberts on December 6, 2021, in the Neezoe Community, after Roberts reportedly accused the deceased of having an affair with his girlfriend, Alice Gayflor.

Speaking at the Temple of Justice on Monday, December 27, 2021, the mother of the deceased Madam Mamie Mulbah said:” I am frustrated over the slowness of the investigations proceeding at the LNP”.

According to her, since the gruesome murder of her son, they are yet to know how far the investigations have gone, while the alleged perpetrator, Emmanuel Roberts, is moving about freely in Monrovia.

Madam Mulbah claimed that justice delayed is justice denied, and as such, she is seeking the intervention of President George Weah, along with other local and international groups surrounding the death of her son.
