Presidential Pres. Sec clarifies allegation against Pres. Weah

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Presidential Press Secretary at the Executive Mansion has clarified a reported story alleging President George Weah to owning a ship.

Mr. Solo Kelgbeh said:” The story of the vessel, marked “SS George Weah,” was first published in 2019 by Global News Network.”

A release from the Press Secretary’s office issued recently is quoted as saying President Weah does not own a ship or a yacht as alleged by the news site.

The Press Secretary described the story as another diabolical attempt by detractors to spew false claims about the President.

According to him, the publisher of Global News Network, Cholo Brooks, has been asked to retract the story in keeping with the ethics of good journalism.

Meanwhile, the Press Secretary said:” Despite the falsehoods, President Weah remains committed to the functions and duties of the Presidency, which guarantees free press and free expression.”
