Fewer admissions of patients at Bushrod Island Treatment Unit-Dr. Kateh

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Health Authorities say despite the increase in Covid-19 cases, data recorded from last week showed fewer patients’ admission at the treatment unit on Bushrod Island.

Deputy Health Minister, Dr. Francis Kateh, made the disclosure in an ELBC interview Monday in Monrovia.

Dr. Kateh said:” The reduction in patients’ admission is due to home-based care, while others are being treated at private hospitals.”

According to him, those taken to the treatment unit are patients with severe and complicated conditions.

The Chief Medical Officer said this is the first time, since June, such reduction has been recorded from the chat at the treatment unit.

Meanwhile, Dr. Francis Kateh, on behalf of the Incident Management System, has promised to work diligently in order to lower the number of patients admitted.
