Approximately forty schools closed in River Gee County due to lack of teachers

RIVER GEE COUNTY, LIBERIA-Dozens of schools in River Gee County have been closed, due to the lack of teachers.

Making the disclosure to ELBC on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, River Gee County Superintendent, Philip Nyenuh, said an estimated forty schools have closed as a result of the situation.

He said education authorities and Authorities of the County have put in place an ambitious plan in order to address the problem.

According to Superintendent Nyenuh, the Webbo Teachers Training Institute (WTTI) in the County is being earmarked to get teachers back in the classrooms.

He said:” The situation will be a priority during the pending River Gee County sitting, where more than eighty delegates from across the County are expected to attend.
