Pres. Weah wants Rural Women empowered through Budget Allocation

GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY, LIBERIA-President George Weah is proposing an annual allocation of two-million United States Dollars to empower rural women across the Country.

President Weah wants the annual allocation legislated in the National Budget.

The Liberian Leader was speaking on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, in a town hall meeting with citizens of Gola Konneh District in Grand Cape Mount County.

President Weah said:” The money will be used to support small businesses for improve livelihood.

The Liberian Chief Executive assured citizens of Government’s commitment to empower women through loans and support to agriculture.

In another development, the Liberian Government says it is engaging the Bea Mountain Company to improve on its Corporate-Social responsibilities.

According to Government, the Company is currently rehabilitating the road leading to the concession area in the County, due to its constant engagement.

President George Weah told citizens of Gola Konneh and Porkpa Districts in Grand Cape Mount County that Government will remain engaged with the Company in their interest.

The Liberian Leader also disclosed that the Bea Mountain Company has agreed to replace makeshift homes to modern homes for workers.

The President’s assurance was based upon a complaint of neglect by the people.

Meanwhile, the citizens lauded the Government for encouraging the Company in their interest.
