Nat’l Elections Commission condemns Arson Attack on Its Headquarters

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) has condemned, in the strongest term, the arson attack on its 9th Street Headquarters in Sinkor.

Unknown individuals reportedly threw petrol bombs on the compound of the NEC Headquarters on Monday, March 16, 2021, setting ablaze a double cabin pick-up and the roof of the garage at about 10:30PM.

NEC Authorities put the estimated cost of the damage to about forty-five-thousand United States Dollars.

Other unexploded petrol bombs were reportedly found near the NEC fence on the 10th Street side of Commission’s Headquarters.

NEC is currently supporting the Liberia National Police (LNP) in its investigation into the arson attack at the Commission’s Headquarters.

Meanwhile, the Police have assured the Commission that they will beef up security at the Commission’s Headquarters in Sinkor.
