NEC Declares Numene Bartekwa, Senator – Elect for Grand Kru County

MONROVIA, LIBERIA- The National Elections Commission (NEC) has declared independent senatorial candidate Numene Bartekwa as winner of the 2020- December 8 Mid-Term Senatorial Elections in Grand Kru County.

According to NEC official result released Thursday, January 21, 2020 Mr. Bartekwa obtained 3,679 votes amounting to 22.83 percent while his nearest challenger, Nathaniel Bahway obtained 3,597 votes constituting 22.32 percent.

NEC Chairperson, Davidetta Browne – Lansanah’s declaration followed the conduct of a re-run of election in three polling centers in Grand Kru County.

Speaking in Monrovia, Madam Browne-Lasanah however, disclosed that LINU’s Nathaniel Bahway has filed a complaint to the NEC’s Board of Commissioners.
