Nat’l Elections Com. appeals to protesting Poll Workers…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) Chairperson, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, is appealing to protesting Poll Workers to exercise patience, as the Commission is engaging the Finance Ministry to complete their payment process.

On Thursday, January 14,2021, aggrieved Poll Workers gathered on the grounds of the NEC Headquarters in Sinkor, Monrovia, demanding their payment from the just ended 2020 December 8 Elections.

Mrs. Browne-Lansanah told the protesters that discussions are ongoing with the Finance Ministry to ensure the quick disbursement of the remaining five-million United States Dollars is made to settle their payment, including various vendors and the media.

She said: “Poll Workers should give the National Elections Commission a week to finalize the payment arrangements with the Ministry.”
