Gov. of France reaffirms support to Liberia

ACCRA, GHANA-The Government of France has reaffirmed its support to continue working with the Government and people of Liberia in several development areas.

France’s Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian made the comment Thursday, January 7, 2021, during a meeting with President George Weah at the inauguration of Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo Addo in Accra.

Minister Le Drian promised to make a State visit to Liberia soon to strengthen bilateral ties between Liberia and France.

He also commended Liberia, through President Weah, for its peacekeeping mission in Mali, where French troops are also fighting against terrorists.

Responding, President Weah thanked the French Government for strengthening Liberia’s role with International Monetary Fund (IMF), and for the timely resumption of flights to Liberia by Air France.

The Liberian Leader named technical and vocational training (TVET) Programs and support to the economy as areas France continues to support the Country.
