30 arrested in Gbarpolu County for allegedly instigating electoral violence

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – About 30 persons have been arrested IN Norma-da-tono in Gbarpolu County, for the violent disruption of the December 8, 2020, Senatorial Elections in the town.

According to the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) Communications Director, Col. Abraham Dorley, the 30 persons were arrested with several voter cards and Liberian and Sierra Leonean Citizen ID Cards.

Col. Dorley told ELBC Tuesday, December 15, 2020, that “those arrested have been charged with instigating electoral violence and threatening the lives of other citizens”.

He said the arrested individuals are been transported to Bopolu City to undergo further investigation before been forwarded to the court for prosecutions.

Meanwhile, the report said calm has returned to norma-datono following the arrival of the joint security in the area.
