Calm restored to Buchanan, Grand Bassa County…..

BUCHANAN, GRAND BASSA COUNTY, LIBERIA-Calm has returned to Grand Bassa County Capital, Buchanan, following clashes between supporters of two senatorial candidates.

Report from the County says supporters of the collaborating Political Parties (CPP) senatorial candidate, Nyoblee Kahngar-Lawrence, and the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), Gbehzongar Findley, were involved in stone throwing.

ELBC Grand Bassa County Correspondent said:” The incident ensued Wednesday, December 9, 2020, after supporters of both parties claimed victory in the election and began jubilating in the streets.”

According to our Correspondent, officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) intervened and restored calm to the area with no arrest made so far, but two people are said to be injured, as a result of the clashes.
