Pres. Weah submits to the House of Rep. Regional Energy Trade Dev. Asso. Financing Agreement for ratification

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Presidents George Weah has submitted to the House of Representatives, for ratification, the West Africa Regional Energy Trade Development Association Financing Agreement.

The Agreement was signed in August this year between the Liberian Government and the International Development Association (IDA) respectively.

In a communication to the body Tuesday, October 6,200, President Weah said:” The Agreement, among other things, seeks to provide reforms and finance to increase regional electricity trade in West Africa.”

The Liberian Leader noted that under the program, the Association has agreed to provide a little over nine-million United States Dollars to Liberia in grants and credits.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives has forwarded the instrument to its Ways and Means as well as Judiciary Committees to report during the next sitting.
