19 institutions declared qualified to resume normal academic activities

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Deputy Director of Planning and Research at the National Commission on Higher Education says nineteen institutions of higher education have been declared qualified, to resume normal academic activities.

Mr. Reginald Mehnpaine said:” The nineteen institutions have met all requirements of the Incident Management Team’s COVID-19 safety measures.”

He told ELBC over the weekend that the nineteen institutions are part of forty-seven others that were subject ted to put into place COVID-19 safety measures at their respective campuses, before reopening.

In another development, Mr. Mehnpaine has clarified that the E-Learning process introduced at various universities is optional.

Mr. Mehnpaine added that the E-Learning process is a COVID-19 quick-impact intervention for institutions desirous of completing semesters affect ted by the pandemic.
