‘Jungle Jabbah’ loses appeal, gets a 30-year sentence in the USA

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A Liberian warlord, Mohammed Jabbateh, alias, Jungle Jabbah, has lost an appeal against his 30-year prison in a court in the United States.

According to reports, Mohammed Jabbateh, alias, Jungle Jabbah is serving a 30-year prison sentence in the United States, for lying about his role in the Liberian civil war.

He was found guilty of immigration fraud, falsely telling US Authorities in the 1990s that he had never belonged to an armed group.

One witness told the court in 2018 that Jungle Jabbah had ordered the heart of a captive to be cooked for his fighters.

Meanwhile, Global Justice and Research Project’s Focal Person in Liberia, Hassan Bility, said the court’s decision to uphold the sentence should serve as an encouragement to all Liberians to stand up for justice and fight impunity.
