Gov., IOM installed hand washing station at Bo Waterside

GRAND CAPE MOUNT COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Liberian Government and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have installed a hand washing station at Bo Waterside, Grand Cape Mount County.

The installation of the hand washing station is part of health protocols in combating COVID-19 at the border.

Speaking during the installation, the Country Coordinator of the IOM, Mohammed Diallo, emphasized the need for various borders in Liberia to be opened for business transaction.

Mr. Diallo said:” Liberians should be prepared to live with COVID-19, and everything should be done to open up Liberia for trade and development.”

In remarks, the Chairman of the WASH Commission, Bobby Whitefield, thanked the International Organization forMigration for supporting the government in its fight against the corona virus.

Still on COVID-19 fight, a local organization has donated several face masks and powder detergent soap to the two high schools in Bensonville, Montserrado County.

They included the Frank E. Tolbert High School and the Hope International Christian Academy.

The gesture was done by ActionAid Liberia with funding from the Government of Sweden..

It is a part of the COVID-19 Humanitarian Response and Resilience project of the organization.

Speaking during the donation recently, the Executive Director of Volunteers Hub Liberia, Menue Bainda said donation of masks is to reduce the spread of COVID 19 among high school students.

Meanwhile, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Volunteer Hub for the gesture.
