First Lady, Clar Weah Wants Religious Community Support Gov’t Enforce COVID-19 Health Protocols

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia’s First Lady, Clar Marie Weah wants the religious community, especially church leaders continue to ensure strict adherence to the covid-19 health protocols.

Mrs. Weah also wants church leaders and worshipers to continue washing their hands, wearing masks and ensuring social distancing during services at their respective worship centers.

The first Lady’s call was conveyed by her office Chief of Staff, Gaelle Mediemover the weekend during ceremonies marking the donation of 3,000 masks to three churches in Monrovia and Paynesville Cities respectively.

The churches include St. Kizito Catholic Church in Paynesville, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Winners’ Chapel International.

Speaking on behalf of their respective churches, Rev. Fr. Ambrose Kroma of the St. Kizito Parish, Rev. Kenety Gee and Pastor Clarence Fredrick thanked the First Lady for identifying with them.

The religious prelates assured that they are committed to adhering to the health protocols as prescribed by health authorities and urged their members on ending sexual gender based violence among others.
