USAID Extols Central Bank of Liberia For Printing of 4Biillion Liberian Banknotes

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is extolling the Central Bank of Liberia(CBL) for the successful printing of 4Biillion Liberian Banknotes.

The printing of the banknotes, according to a statement issued by USAID, July 13, 2020, will help to ease the liquidity situation in Liberia.

The printing will also provide ordinary Liberians access to cash they need to pay for essential goods and services.

USAID in its statement said it is pride to partner with the CBL management to provide the necessary technical assistance that brought improvement at the entity.

Meanwhile, USAID said it will continue collaborating with the Central Bank to ensure that CBL provides the needed and better services to the people of Liberia.

Prior to the printing of the money, banking institutions, the business community and ordinary Liberians, experienced insufficiency of cash and mutilated banknotes on the Liberia market.
